De Sony Alpha a7R V legt de lat nu nog hoger met een krachtige full frame 61 MP sensor met een BIONZ XR Beeldsensor. De camera haalt een 10 fps in burst-mode. Hiermee schiet je 88 uncompressed Raw of 184 compressed raw met een verbluffend resultaat. Schiet je in de pixel shift-modus dan kun je tot wel 240 Megapixel resultaat behalen.
Met deze camera kun je 4k (60 fps) en zelfs 8k (24 fps) filmen, dit doe je allemaal in 10-bit 4:2:2. De picture-profiles S-Cinetone en natuurlijk S-Log zijn beschikbaar. Verder beschikt de camera over een 8-stops IBIS. Daarnaast heb je ook focus breathing compensatie als optie. Met deze setting heb je minder tot geen last hebt van focus breathing met een verschillende Sony lenzen.
Het hoogwaardige bekende OLED scherm dat we van Sony gewend zijn is niet alleen een flip-screen maar kan ook gedraaid worden. Zo kun je uit alle hoeken ideal zien hoe het shot eruitziet.
Met 693 Auto-focus punten word je nu voorzien van een “real-time” autofocus en is het nog makkelijker om een accurate focus te krijgen. Ook kun je de gemaakte bestanden razendsnel overzetten met de nieuwe 2,4 Ghz/5 Ghz wifi verbinding of natuurlijk via USB-C met een 10GBPS snelheid.
De camera beschikt over een dubbel kaartslot met een CFexpress Type A en een Sd-slot. De ISO gevoeligheid van de camera is 100-102.400 en het gewicht is 723 gram.
