De Canon EOS R3 is een camera met een RF mount een 24MP full frame CMOS sensor die tot 30 fps kan fotograferen. De R3 kan in 6K-raw video in 12 bits tot 60p intern schieten en ook 4K 120 p in 4:2:2 10 bit met Canon-log kleurenprofiel. Hij heeft ook een gevoeligheid van ISO 100 tot ISO 102.400 waardoor hij erg lichtsterk is.
Deze Camera heeft Ingebouwde Image Stabilization tot 8-stops. Een van de beste features van deze camera is Eye Control Focus waardoor je de scherpstelpunt of onderwerp die je wilt volgen selecteert door ernaar te kijken. Het is ook voorzien van onderwerp tracking waarmee de focus een bewegende onderwerp kan volgen, perfect voor sport- en natuurfotografie.
De Camera heeft een LCD touchscreen voor de basisinstellingen. Het is ook voorzien van een hot shoe om wat meer mogelijkheden te geven voor het opbouwen van de camera.
Ten slotte, de afmetingen van de camera zijn 150 x 142,6 x 87,2 mm en hij weegt 1015g.
