De Nikon Z8 is een compacte en lichtgewicht camera die technologie bevat van het Z9 model. Hij beschikt over een 45,7 Megapixel, BSI CMOS-sensor, EXPEED 7 beeldprocessor en geavanceerde autofocus.
De camera biedt snelle continu-opnamen, een grote buffercapaciteit en verschillende opnamemogelijkheden. De camera maakt gebruik van een elektronische sluiter in plaats van een mechanische sluiter, voor een stille werking en snelle opnamen.
De Z8 is geoptimaliseerd voor portretten en bevat tools voor fine-tuning, het verzachten van huidtinten en handmatige witbalansregeling.
De camera blinkt ook uit in video-opnamen en ondersteunt interne 8K60- en 4K120-opnamen, evenals verschillende raw- en ProRes-opnameformaten.
De camera heeft een slanke en duurzame constructie, met dubbele kaartsleuven: Een slot voor een CF Express-kaart (Type B), het andere slot voor een SD-kaart.
